JNPMEDI, a healthcare data platform company led by CEO Kwunho Jeong, announced on the 22nd that it has successfully raised 14 billion KRW in Series A funding. This achievement comes just 10 months after securing 2 billion KRW in seed funding in January this year, bringing the total investment to 16 billion KRW.
This Series A funding was led by Pavilion Capital, a growth investment specialist subsidiary of Singapore's largest sovereign wealth fund, Temasek. Notably, early investors including Kakao Ventures, Murex Partners, Ajou IB Investment, and Zentium Partners, who had initially invested in JNPMEDI, participated in this follow-up investment, highlighting their confidence in the company's vision.
Founded in July 2020, JNPMEDI is a leading company in the field of clinical trial data solution platforms based on IT technologies such as cloud and blockchain. The clinical trial sector, which has lagged in digitalization compared to other fields, is recognized as an industry with high demand for innovative technologies and significant growth potential.
JNPMEDI has developed the "Maven Clinical Cloud," a clinical trial data management platform applicable to various medical areas such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, digital therapeutics, and digital medical devices. The company has been acknowledged as a game-changer in the decentralized clinical trial (DCT) market.
With this investment, JNPMEDI plans to further advance its products and expand globally. The company will significantly strengthen its data infrastructure and internal R&D organization. Additionally, by enhancing the stability of its cloud-based services and upgrading its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology, it aims to become a leading provider of professional software that sets global standards in the clinical trial market.
Sejin Kim, Senior Investment Manager at Murex Partners, stated, "Post-pandemic, decentralized clinical trials have become a key trend in the global healthcare industry. We decided to invest in JNPMEDI because we are excited about the company's growth prospects as it explores new possibilities to expand the digital clinical trial market."
CEO Kwunho Jeong of JNPMEDI said, "We have dedicated our entire organization to laying the technical and service foundations for the innovation of digital clinical trials. Moving forward, we aim to introduce an all-in-one ecosystem that covers all aspects of digital clinical trials based on world-class technology."
Meanwhile, JNPMEDI is the first Korean company to join the Decentralized Trials & Research Alliance (DTRA), a global decentralized clinical trial consortium. The company has focused on developing services based on international standards. Recently, it successfully hosted "JNPMEDI Connect 2022," the largest digital clinical trial symposium in Korea, fostering exchanges among top domestic experts in the life sciences field and leading the industry.
