“The cost of introducing a built-in solution during clinical trials is a concern for biotech. We offer software as a service (SaaS) and pay-as-you-go options for ease of access by small and medium-sized businesses”
JNPMEDI develops and offers its own clinical trial data management platform ‘Maven Clinical Cloud’ solution. By developing software (SW) that digitally enables clinical trials, JNPMEDI systematically manages the plethora of data generated during clinical trials, which are essential for the development of new drugs or medical devices. The only company in Korea that offers distributed clinical trials (DCTs) on a SaaS basis without installation is JNPMEDI, and it is quickly gaining traction with clinical trials stakeholders such as hospitals, Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and pharma/biopharma companies.
Youngyong Park, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of JNPMEDI, said in an interview, “This year’s sales, backed by the increased repurchase rates from existing customers, will grow more than 500% year-on-year.”
Recently, the company launched the drug safety management solution 'Maven Safety.' With this addition, the 'Maven Clinical Cloud' platform now includes Maven CDMS, clinical trial document management solution Maven Docs, DCT support Maven DCT Suite, eCOA for collecting clinical data using mobile devices, and Maven Safety. Each handles data management, clinical trial documentation, remote data collection, and drug safety management. Customers can purchase only the services they need.

Youngyong Park, JNPMEDI CTO
Park explained, "The mandatory application of the E2B(R3) international standard format for reporting adverse drug reactions was introduced in 2021," adding, "Since 2022, the regular reporting system (DSUR) for clinical trial drug safety management has been mandated, strengthening drug safety-related regulations."
He continued, "Using Maven Safety allows for systematic data management," adding, "The solution provides data entry functions tailored to the E2B(R3) format for reporting to domestic regulatory agencies, and XML file conversion for data reporting can be done with a single click." The user interface and experience (UI/UX) are also designed intuitively for ease of use.
The solution combines convenience with price competitiveness. Park emphasized, "Adverse event reporting during clinical trials typically involves immediate reporting of specific drug incidents or post-market adverse events, which can be costly with existing solutions. Our product is highly price competitive."
Maven Safety supports seamless integration with external solutions and systems based on collaboration, without lock-in constraints. Park noted, "Maven Safety can be attached to competitors' systems at any time, allowing users to selectively use our solution."
He concluded, "We are increasing hiring across the company to enhance our solutions and aim for quantitative growth and service expansion," adding, "We will actively participate in overseas exhibitions and conferences, which are opportunities and stepping stones for global market entry, to create new sales opportunities."
