| From Practical Training and Adjunct Professorships to Internship-to-Employment Programs… Building an Integrated Industry-Academia Pipeline
AI platform-based clinical trial consulting company JNPMEDI (CEO KwunHo Jeong) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dongguk University’s Department of Medical Device Industry and Department of Regulatory Science in Biomedical and Healthcare Devices (led by Professor SeongMin Kim) to foster talent needed in the bio-healthcare industry. The agreement outlines cooperation in education, research, and the operation of internship programs.
The signing ceremony took place on April 4 at the Sangyoung Bio Hall on Dongguk University’s Bio-Medical Convergence Campus. Through this MOU, the two institutions agreed to establish a close industry-academia collaboration system, including: ▲practical, field-oriented education and evaluation ▲personnel exchange through adjunct and visiting professorships ▲joint operation of industry-driven internship programs.
This agreement goes beyond offering internships by establishing a two-way structure where industry players participate directly in education and academic institutions reflect real-world corporate needs. The internship program will run for at least two years from April 2025 to March 2027, with its operational methods and detailed curriculum to be flexibly designed through discussions between students and institutions.
KwunHo Jeong, CEO of JNPMEDI, stated, “In the bio-healthcare industry, where field experience and professional expertise directly translate to competitiveness, this agreement serves as a concrete action plan for training job-ready talent. Through multifaceted collaboration such as employment-linked internships and hands-on lectures, we aim to build an ecosystem that contributes broadly to the industry.”
Professor SeongMin Kim, Chair of the Department at Dongguk University, commented, “Collaborating with JNPMEDI, a leader in digital innovation in clinical trials, will bring real-world industry knowledge into our classrooms. We will continue to expand field-oriented learning opportunities so our students can grow into competitive professionals in the future bio-healthcare landscape.”
Through this agreement, JNPMEDI and Dongguk University plan to organically link academic and industry practices, building a sustainable cooperation model that enhances not only short-term educational outcomes but also the overall competitiveness of the industry.
